When your metabolism is high you burn more calories even when your body is resting, even when you are sleeping. Your body uses the calories you consume when your metabolism is high rather than turning calories into fat. The most effective fat loss involve boosting metabolism.

What happens, however, is that people start craving food so they eat more to make up for the days they did not eat what they are used to eating. If you work in an office and lead a sedentary life style outside of work, your metabolism is low because you get little exercise.

When your metabolism is slow, calories you consume will be stored as fat. Of course your body does burn calories throughout the day simply as it performs the normal activities of life like breathing. But outside of these calories you burn, all other calories are turned into fat. The object is to turn calories you eat into energy.

Not only will you lose weight, but also you will have more get up and go. You will not feel tired throughout the day. It is simple to increase your metabolism even if you work in an office all day. But realize you have to get your body moving a lot for quick weight loss to succeed. You boost your metabolism by raising your heart rate. You will want to consult with your health care professional, of course, before you start any exercise program. You should understand though that boosting your metabolism is nothing more than regular exercise.

Think back to when your body was an energy-burning machine. You were in high school. You walked to the bus stop to take the bus to school, or you walked to school. You spent an hour in PE class. You walked to and from classrooms. And if you were in after school sports you were in practice two to three hours a day, not counting the games you were in.

Your metabolism was on fire then. Your body could barely get enough calories to keep you going. Now you ride or drive to work, you sit in your office chair all day, you get home feeling drained mentally and physically, you check the TV listings and snack yourself to sleep after a large dinner.

Listen, we all know how tough it is to hit the gym after work, but you do not have to start with a five night a week program. This month commit to going to the gym one night a week. Then next month go two nights a week and work up to three nights a week. Take a walk at lunch as part of your quick weight loss.

On the weekend get out and play. Run around with your kids, shoot some baskets, and throw the Frisbee with friends. The best way to get into shape is to lose fat by boosting metabolism. So now go out there and move around. Forget about not eating. Enjoy your food, but remember to turn your food into energy and have fun doing so just like you used to.
